YuMOVE vs Pooch & Mutt Joint Care: What Each Label Actually Declares

The short answerPooch & Mutt Joint Care declares more glucosamine per tablet (334mg against YuMOVE's 250mg) and is the only one of the two to declare chondroitin at all, at 150mg. YuMOVE's advantage is ActivEase green-lipped mussel and a published trial on its PLUS formula. On cost per day for a 20 kg dog, Pooch & Mutt is roughly half the price.

Pooch & Mutt joint care vs YuMOVE is a fair comparison, and it starts with getting the right tub. Pooch & Mutt sells three things people buy for joints, and only one of them is a dosed joint supplement: the Joint Care Supplement For Dogs, a tablet declaring glucosamine and chondroitin by weight. Mobile Bones is a mobility powder with a fraction of the actives, and Bionic Biotic is a gut supplement with no joint actives at all. This page compares the Joint Care tablet against YuMOVE Joint Support.

Every figure below is the manufacturer's own label declaration, checked on 4 September 2026.

Where Pooch & Mutt wins

On the label, and on price. The Joint Care tablet is the only one of the two that declares chondroitin as a measured ingredient, at 150mg alongside 334mg of glucosamine, plus MSM and hydrolysed collagen that YuMOVE does not carry. For a 20 kg dog that is two large tablets a day, so a 230g pot at £29.99 runs about eight weeks — roughly 53p a day against 97p for the equivalent YuMOVE dose. If you want the classic glucosamine-and-chondroitin pairing at a declared dose, this is the cheaper way to get it.

Where YuMOVE wins

On the mussel and on the evidence. ActivEase green-lipped mussel brings omega-3s and the ETA lipids that plain glucosamine does not, and Lintbells is one of very few brands to have run a trial on its own finished product rather than on a single ingredient. YuMOVE is also easier to buy in a shop, and the range steps up cleanly to PLUS and PLUS Max if your dog needs more. Pooch & Mutt's own claim is an owner survey, not a trial.

Which Pooch & Mutt tub is which

This is where most of the confusion comes from, so plainly:

Which should you buy?

If cost matters and you want declared glucosamine and chondroitin, buy the Pooch & Mutt Joint Care tablets. If you want the green-lipped mussel and the trial data behind it, buy YuMOVE, and step up to PLUS if your dog is already stiff. Mobile Bones is a reasonable low-cost sprinkle for a young dog with nothing wrong yet, and Bionic Biotic is for gut trouble, not joints. Every UK option is compared side by side in our YuMOVE Alternatives UK guide.

Common questions

Is Pooch & Mutt joint care as good as YuMOVE?

On declared dose it is competitive and cheaper. Pooch & Mutt's Joint Care Supplement declares 334mg glucosamine and 150mg chondroitin per large tablet; YuMOVE Joint Support declares 250mg glucosamine and 150mg ActivEase green-lipped mussel, with no separate chondroitin. YuMOVE's advantage is the mussel and a published trial on its PLUS formula. Do not confuse Joint Care with Mobile Bones, which is a far weaker powder.

Does Pooch & Mutt Bionic Biotic help joints?

No. Its published composition is prebiotic FOS, a single probiotic strain and fish oil, with no glucosamine, chondroitin, MSM or green-lipped mussel. It is a gut supplement. The Joint Care Supplement is the one in the range with joint actives.

What is the difference between Pooch & Mutt Joint Care and Mobile Bones?

Joint Care is a tablet declaring 334mg glucosamine and 150mg chondroitin each. Mobile Bones is a 200g powder declaring glucosamine at 1.4%, so the entire tub holds about 2.8g and carries no chondroitin at all. Joint Care is the dosed product; Mobile Bones is a maintenance sprinkle.
